KEEP OF KALESSIN's Appearance At TRONDHEIM JAZZFESTIVAL Was 'A Huge Success'
September 6, 2006Norwegian black metallers KEEP OF KALESSIN, who feature in their ranks Obsidian C. (a.k.a. Arnt Grønbech),performed a one-time, unique show with the duo MONOLITHIC on Friday, September 1 at the Trondheim Jazzfestival. The performance was previously described as "a concert where extreme metal meets jazz at an insanely high tempo." The band since issued the following update:
"We want to express our deepest thanks for all the support for the concert at Trondheim Jazzfestival. Especially we would like to thank the guys in MONOLITHIC and Ernst Viggo Sandbakk who made this possible. The gig was a huge success and the venue was beyond full when they had to close the door, leaving a line of people all the way down to the street. We're sorry to all those who didn't get a ticket, but we hope to have a video of the gig up at our website pretty soon. In the meantime you can enjoy two mp3 clips from the gig. One is Vyl's drum solo and the other is the KOK/MONO speed 'world record attempt.'"
KEEP OF KALESSIN's latest album, "Armada", entered the Norwegian national album chart at position No. 20 upon its release earlier in the year. The CD is the group's first with vocalist Thebon, who made his live debut with the band during their live shows in 2005, including the Eastern European tour with EXODUS and HYPOCRISY in December.
